HOW IT WORKS

What your subscriptions are really costing

The calculator adds your monthly streaming, apps, memberships and other recurring charges, then converts annual renewals into a monthly amount. That gives you one monthly number, one yearly number and a five-year view of the same recurring spending.

Monthly cost

Everything recurring is translated into an average monthly amount so annual renewals do not disappear from the picture.

Yearly cost

The monthly total is projected across twelve months to show what the subscriptions consume over a full year.

Five-year view

This is a simple projection, not a prediction. Prices, plans and which services you keep can change.

Subscription calculator FAQs

Should annual subscriptions go in the annual box?

Yes. Enter the full annual renewal amount there instead of also adding it to a monthly category.

What counts as a subscription?

Streaming, cloud storage, apps, software, memberships, delivery programs, fitness plans and any other charge that renews automatically can belong here.

Should I cancel everything if the total looks high?

Not necessarily. The useful question is whether each recurring charge is still worth what it costs and fits the rest of the household plan.

This calculator is a planning estimate. Actual charges can change with taxes, price increases, billing cycles and plan changes.

HOW IT WORKS

See the yearly price tag hiding inside monthly charges

Subscriptions feel small because they arrive one charge at a time. This calculator combines monthly services with annual renewals so you can see the real monthly, yearly and longer-term total.

Monthly charges

Streaming, apps, memberships and other recurring monthly costs are added together.

Annual renewals

Yearly subscriptions are divided by 12 and added to the monthly picture so they do not disappear just because they bill less often.

Longer-term cost

The yearly total helps show what the same subscriptions could cost over several years if nothing changes.

Subscription questions worth asking

Should I include services I share with family?

Yes if your household pays for them. The goal is to capture what actually leaves your accounts, not how many people use each service.

What about free trials?

If a trial will convert to paid and you expect to keep it, include the future charge. If you plan to cancel, set a reminder before the renewal date.

Do I need to cancel everything?

No. The point is clarity. Keep what is useful and worth the cost; cut what you forgot about or no longer use.

Subscription prices and billing terms can change. Use current charges from your own accounts for the most useful estimate.
